What if I need to get admitted into the hospital?

Dr. Aponte does not hold admitting privileges at local area hospitals. In case of an emergency or if your condition requires hospitalization or crisis intervention, you will be referred to the local emergency room for care and evaluation by the inpatient psychiatrist.

What do I do in case of an emergency?

Contact us at the office during regular business hours. If your emergency occurs outside of our regular business hours, please go to your nearest ER, call 911 or the Emergency Hotline 972-233-2233.

How do I get refills on my medications?

Please ask your pharmacy to send an electronic refill request. This is the easiest and fastest way to get your medications and it should be your first call. Please allow 48 business hours for medication refills that are requested during regular office hours. Refills will not be answered on weekends or holidays. Because we understand how important it is to avoid stopping your medications abruptly, we recommend keeping a close eye on your medications and requesting your refills in a timely manner.

Will you call me to remind me of my upcoming appointment?

As a courtesy to our patients, we make every attempt to contact you prior to your appointment to remind you of your upcoming visit. However, you will still be responsible for your appointment/fees if we are not able to reach you during our reminder call/email.

What are the fees for cancellations? How much notice do I need to give?

Cancellation of appointments must be made with 24 business hours advance notice. Saturdays and Sundays are not considered business hours. If you have to cancel your appointment within 24 hours or don’t show up to the appointment, there is a cancellation/no show fee. These fees are not billable to your insurance company and need to be paid prior to your next visit.

What if I am running late for my appointment?

Please contact us at 940-448-0304 as soon as possible. We understand traffic delays and emergencies happen and we will do our best to accommodate you. Please understand that such accommodations may include rescheduling your appointment if more than 5 minutes late if the doctor’s schedule for the rest of the day is full. Because we highly value your time, if you show up late for your appointment you’ll only be seen for the remainder of the time left on your appointment. This will prevent the doctor from running behind on the schedule and taking time away from the patients that are scheduled after you. The payment fee is due for the scheduled appointment.

How long are my visits?

New patient appointments are 60 minutes. Medication management/follow up appointments are 20-30 minutes depending on your condition.
